Toma Peinture: "With Techtime, planning is simpler and more precise".

How does Techtime meet the needs of professionals? What advantages does this solution offer company managers and their employees? What impact does the software have on day-to-day productivity and organization? Thomas Cronimus reviews the benefits of Techtime for his Alsatian company, Toma Peinture.

The company: Toma Peinture

Created in 2011, Toma Peinture is a company specializing in paint industrial lacquering, decor and wall coverings. At the head of this Alsatian company, located in Hœrdt, Thomas Cronimus, one of France's Best Craftsmen in 2019.

Today, Thomas Cronimus has to manage the day-to-day operations of 9 employees, not only on their own premises, but also during on-site interventions. It's in this context that the company manager uses Techtime's services. He explains how he uses this software to manage site activities and interventions, and how it benefits his company.

What business issues prompted you to use Techtime?

Thomas Cronimus: I know the building trade very well. I've been in the business for over 30 years, and my father was already there. Every morning, you have to be there with a head full of notes, things to remember, things to tell your teams.

You may even find yourself waking up in the middle of the night, telling yourself that you mustn't forget certain things: warn one team, pass on information to another, explain where the site is located, give the number of the building and the entrance code. It can also mean telling an employee which car to take, what equipment he or she will need for the job, thinking about the worksite sheet if there is one, etc.

On a day-to-day basis, this can quickly become a hellish, unmanageable situation. That's where Techtime comes in. Throughout the day, whenever I want, I can take notes or take notes or plan a job on Techtime. And in the morning, when the employees are ready to start work, they already have all the information they need.

As for me, I don't forget anything, my mind is free, everything is programmed. The employees, for their part, have all the information they need, so they can't say they didn't know. It's practical because I often work with young people. Here, everything is written down, so there's no excuse.

Why did you choose Techtime?

MOF, Thomas Cronimus is Best Worker in FranceThomas Cronimus: Techtime already represents a very local solution, as we are located right next door. At the time, I was asked by the French Building Federation to exchange ideas and share my experience with Techtime's directors, and to support them in this program idea.

Personally, at that time, I'd just had a minor accident at work and was stuck. So it was the right time. I was able to ask questions and clearly explain my needs as a professional.

I've been using Techtime since its launch, and even had the opportunity to test the Beta version. And this solution suits me completely.

In practical terms, how do you use Techtime's tools and functions on a day-to-day basis?

Thomas Cronimus: I use Techtime's tools and functionalities in their entirety, mainly for daily planning. This way, for example, I know whether a worker is assigned to a task, whether his day is full, whether he has enough work in progress. I can see where he's been, or whether he's been unable to get to a particular place. I can also give small instructions to each worker before an intervention.

Techtime allows me to manage this planning in the afternoon, with a clear head. Every evening, employees already know where they'll be the next day. It's also a comfort for them because they know what they'll have to do, what equipment they'll need to bring or even whether they'll be able to come home for lunch. In short, they have access to everything they need to know.

How do you and your workers use Techtime?

Thomas Cronimus: Personally, I carry out daily planning exclusively computer laptop or desktop. And the workers receive their notifications notifications via an application on their phones.

This enables them to find out about their schedules, their teams, the customer they are working for, the vehicle and equipment to be used, customer instructions, customer and supplier telephone numbers, addresses, and so on.

Everything that used to be done and transmitted manually, written down on little sheets of paper, is now done on the app. And it's going really well. It's simpler, more precise.

Interview with a painter

Have you noticed an increase in productivity since you started using Techtime?

Thomas Cronimus : In concrete terms, as everything is written down in black and white on the application, everything is more carefully thought out, and the organization is better than before.. It's much much easier to plan everything rather than keeping everything in your head and, logically, running the risk of forgetting important things.

This allows us to know exactly what we have to do in three weeks, one month, three months - it all depends on the deadline. We know our workload, so we know quickly if we can accept a job, if we're going to need help, and so on.

For their part, employees are more involved. They see that everything is organized, everything is square. So, for their part, they're obliged to keep up too. There are fewer planning problems, fewer mistakes. This is particularly interesting when you consider that some of our apprentices are still at school.

There's also an important parameter to take into account: the replaceability of the company manager, who is the key man, but who, potentially, should be as little as possible. With Techtime, I could very well hire someone, train him, and delegate planning to him.

This can free up time for other tasks, marketing, for example, or even rest. We never talk about it, but it's still a problem to be able to do nothing. doing nothing, taking a step back, resting. This helps, for example, to reduce the risk of burn-out.
